WASHINGTONThe American Securities Association (ASA) today applauded the long-overdue reopening of the federal government and called on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to quickly process its backlog of Initial Public Offerings (IPOs).

"With the shutdown finally over, we look forward to working with Congress and the SEC to adopt policies that will stimulate economic activity and revitalize the IPO market," said ASA President and CEO Chris Iacovella.

Nearly a month ago, ASA urged Congress to reopen the government by passing a clean continuing resolution (CR).
