WASHINGTON – The American Securities Association (ASA) today welcomed the House Financial Services Committee's Subcommittee on Capital Markets hearing, "From Wall Street to Main Street: The Future of How America Invests." The hearing underscores Congress's urgent need to modernize securities regulations and expand capital formation opportunities for American small businesses, working families, and retirement savers.
"ASA applauds ongoing efforts by the House Financial Services Committee to democratize America's capital markets and allow more investors to participate in the success of American businesses," said ASA President and CEO Chris Iacovella. "Congress should pass legislation such as the GROWTH Act and INVEST Act to ease regulatory burdens on small businesses and expand investment access for everyday families."
ASA has long advocated for regulatory frameworks that remove unnecessary barriers while maintaining robust investor protections. The GROWTH Act and INVEST Act would modernize exempt offering frameworks, streamline small business capital formation, and expand investment opportunities for millions of Americans currently locked out of opportunities that can help build generational wealth.
