WASHINGTON – The American Securities Association (ASA) today welcomed the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) latest Regulatory Flexibility Agenda.

"ASA applauds Chairman Atkins for his leadership to advance a slate of rulemakings aimed at giving Main Street investors a chance to share in the American dream by investing in the small businesses that drive our economy," said ASA President and CEO Chris Iacovella. "The SEC is finally getting back to its core mission of promoting capital formation, market integrity and investor protection."

ASA looks forward to working with the Commission to advance the following rulemakings:

  • Proposals that will help investors better understand public company disclosure and repeal harmful rules such as the SEC’s 2024 climate rule;

  • Protecting investors by eliminating the collection and storage of personally identifiable information (PII) under the consolidated audit trail;

  • De-politicizing the proxy system and protecting investors from special interests that target companies over immaterial political and social issues.
