The American Securities Association called on the SEC to consider alternative tick sizes and potentially allow companies to limit the number of exchanges where stocks are bought and sold to improve the market for thinly traded securities, according to a letter sent to the regulator today.
The association representing small and regional financial services companies sent the letter after a call from the SEC in October for public comments on how to improve trading for lower-volume equity securities. The regulator also released a report on the issues designed to help inform any proposals for submission.
