We look forward to being a helpful partner to advance this thoughtful bipartisan bill to the President’s desk.

WASHINGTON – The American Securities Association (ASA) today applauded introduction of a bipartisan bill from Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) and Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) to help address America’s retirement security crisis by making it easier for more Americans to save and invest, expand the ability of small businesses to offer plans, and provide low-income Americans with more opportunities for a better financial future.

“We applaud Senators Portman and Cardin for coming together once again to empower more Americans to save for retirement and help tackle our national retirement security crisis,” said ASA CEO Chris Iacovella. “This much-needed legislation will help millions of working families and small businesses, strengthen the retirement system, and provide Americans with peace of mind as they near retirement. We look forward to being a helpful partner to advance this thoughtful bipartisan bill to the President’s desk.”

Last month, ASA released its 2019 Retirement Security Agenda, outlining its support for a range of policies to enhance America’s retirement security including many featured in the Portman-Cardin bill. To read ASA”s full retirement agenda, click here.
