WASHINGTON – The American Securities Association (ASA) today applauded the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) proposal of two transformative rulemakings to modernize the registered offering framework and right-size reporting requirements to help more American companies go public and stay public.

"Chairman Atkins is tearing down the regulatory walls that have locked working families and retirement savers out of America's next great companies. Today's proposals begin to reverse the SEC's one-size-fits-all disclosure regime, refocus public company disclosure on materiality, and make it easier for American companies to go and stay public," said ASA President and CEO Chris Iacovella.
